Skyline Medical Inc. (SKLN) saw its loss narrow to $1.34 million, or $0.21 a share for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2017. In the previous year period, the company reported a loss of $2.18 million, or $3.01 a share.

Revenue during the quarter surged 80.76 percent to $0.18 million from $0.10 million in the previous year period. Gross margin for the quarter expanded 6751 basis points over the previous year period to 78.88 percent.

"We are encouraged by our strengthened financial and operational performance during the first quarter, and by the momentum we are creating in broadening awareness of the STREAMWAY System, generating sales leads and increasing quotes," said Dr. Carl Schwartz, Skyline's chief executive officer.

Cash conversion cycle (CCC) has increased to 557 days for the quarter from 463 days for the last year period. Days sales outstanding went down to 27 days for the quarter compared with 43 days for the same period last year.

Days inventory outstanding has increased to 303 days for the quarter compared with 259 days for the previous year period. At the same time, days payable outstanding went up to 888 days for the quarter from 764 for the same period last year.
